Quilts and Fabrics of the Civil War
Wednesday June 13 at 6:30 PM
with Carolyn Babcock of the Montgomery Quilting Circle
Carolyn is a talented hand quilter and combines her love of fabrics and quilting with history. She will talk about the effect of the war on fabric production and the efforts made to send quilts to the soldier. Carolyn will share her knowledge of the dyes and production methods of the era and bring in samples of some of the reproduction fabrics that are now available to quilters. She will bring her replica soldier’s quilt and talk about the process of creating it.
Don’t Forget – We will be closed on Friday June 8th so that the entire staff may attend a workshop to improve service to all our patrons.
