Need a Library Card?
Bring a valid ID or proof of residence (a lease or postmarked mail) and speak to our front desk! If you would like your child to have a library card and they are under the age of 12, please accompany them to the library to sign them up. We proudly serve patrons from both the United States of America and Canada, and believe access to information should be available to all. Signing up only takes a few minutes, and grants you access to best-selling titles, museum passes, and a plethora of winter gear for the cold winter months.
Act 150 Confidentiality Act for Young Adults and Teens and Their Public Library Accounts
A new law that took effect on July 1st 2024 impacts library services to teens and young adults. S 220/Act 150 allows people ages 12-17 to have complete privacy regarding what they check out from the library. In the coming weeks, we will be talking to teens about their new rights and how they now have more responsibility for the library materials they check out. We will be updating contact information to ensure that we share information with the correct people and asking teens and young adults who they want to have access to their accounts. 12 to 17 year old library patrons – please stop by the Arvin A. Brown Public Library so we can update your confidentiality preferences.
How Long Will I Need to Wait to Receive My Card?
About 5 minutes! Even if it’s your first time in a library, the only things you need to get started are a valid ID and a moment of your time.
