Poetry 180 Book Discussion

Pick up your copy of the 2013 “Vermont Reads” title from the Vermont Humanities Council.  This poem-a-day anthology to make poetry less daunting by assembling a “selection of short, clear, contemporary poems which any listener could basically ‘get’ on first hearing – poems whose injection of pleasure is immediate.”

Our facilitator for the evening will be Nick Vittum of Montgomery.   He has been studying poetry for over 45 years, and writing it for almost as long, and holds an MFA in Writing  from Goddard College. He has written two chapbooks, and has a third almost ready to seek a publisher. Although he has occasionally taught writing at the college level, the bulk of his teaching experience has been in the Adult Education system, and he does not view himself as an academic poet.
