We invite all our patrons and supporters to come out for a fun evening in support of the Arvin A. Brown Library.  Come and watch the Kentucky Derby while you browse and nibble and bid!  The Richford Country Club plays host for this wonderful event.  Not only will we watch the Kentucky Derby race and pre-race festivities, but you will have the chance to browse and bid on a selection of items donated by businesses and artists and well known Vermonters.

Hand turned bowl by Toby Fulwiler of Fairfield Farm Bowls.  He makes lathe-turned wooden bowls and hand-hewed kitchen implements from Vermont hardwoods including sugar & red maple, black cherry, white & yellow birch, and apple & crabapple, with most of the wood coming from his 90-acre forest in off Ridge Road in Fairfield.

East Meets West Family Farm has donated a collection of bar soaps.  The farm is a small homestead in Northern Vermont. It farm is home to Cashmere goats,  Romney and Border Leicester sheep, Angora rabbits and chickens. They offer handcrafted goat milk soaps, fiber, felted and knit goods.

Karen Hesse is a Vermont author of children and young adult literature, paten with historical settings.  One of her favorite hobbies is knitting.  She knits animals and soft dolls to help support a small orphanage in Haiti.  She has donated one of these Orphelina dolls which she created, for us to offer in our auction.

We are grateful to so many local artists who have donated their work for this event.  We have so many wonderful artists in this area and are grateful so many of them have donated to support the work and outreach we do at the library.  Artists featured above include Jenny Goyne, Gene Garron, Pat Burton, Charlotte Rosshandler, Jo Anne Wazny, Sharon Fiske and Carolyn Utigard-Thomas.  Other artists whose work will be featured include:
